BC's Large Appliance disposal and Recycling program

LargeApplianceRecycling.ca is run by The Major Appliance Recycling Roundtable (MARR). MARR is a not-for-profit stewardship agency created to implement and operate a stewardship plan for end-of-life major household appliances in BC. The British Columbia Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy has approved MARR's stewardship plan.

Dropping off your end-of-life large appliance is free at over 200 collection sites across BC.

What Large Appliances Can Be Recycled?

Recycling for free your large appliance has never been so easy. To check if your appliance is covered by the MARR program, check the below list of accepted products.

Why should I Recycle?

Large appliances contain recoverable metals and getting them back into the supply chain reduces the need for new raw materials. Also, many large appliances contain refrigerants: a group of chemicals that collectively are called ozone-depleting substances. By responsibly recycling your large appliances, you ensure that any ozone-depleting substances will be handled and disposed of carefully by licensed professionals.

There are certified drop-off sites that accept major appliances all across BC. There is no charge when you drop off your appliance at a MARR collection site and you can rest assured knowing your large appliances will be recycled responsibly.
